Default f13 cam untuned?

Ok guys that have the f13 cam. Did any of you wait a few weeks before getting your car tuned? I know for sure that it wont idle while cold, but once warmed up does it do OK? Im pressed for money right now, and my car is leaking oil from the oil pan cause the gasket is messed up. Its not a real fast leak, but still i figured since the oil pan is going to be dropped when installing the oil pump, i might as well go aheaed and get the cam installed. I dont mind revving it, to keep it alive while its cold, and having it stall out some even when hot. I also have 4:10 gears which will help it out with getting going, since i know ill loose low end power. My car is an m6 as well. So what do yall think, can i get by without having it tuned for a few weeks?

thanks,
Brandon

I wouldn't do it. I would wait till i had the money to do it all, and get rides from people till then or baby your ride.

I'm going to basically baby it from my house to Katech to get it tuned, but other than that I'm not going to drive it. I might get a mail order tune for a base so its at least somewhat driveable, but I will definitely be driving straight there once I'm sure there are no mechanical issues.

so has anyone ever driven the car for a little without the tune. I talked to the shop im going to get tuned at and they said i can pay 1/2 of the money and they will give me an off dyno tune that will make it run a little better, then when i have more money i can just pay the other half and get the dyno tune(which would only be like 3 weeks later). But id still be driving for about 4-5 days without any tune at all. Im not planning on driving much, the longest drive will be hte 90mile trip to the shop which is mostly highway driving.

I don't have the fm13 but i have the fm14 and I drove it months(i think close to 2-3) before getting a tune. And during those months i would drive very hard....I guess you can say thats probably why my car is the way it is now

there is a guy around here who drove a t-rex cam around untuned for a few months I heard. Dont have a clue how he did that though, it musta died at every stop light. I decided im gonna go ahead and get it put in, the guy that is putting it in has put a f13 and heads on anouther ls1 and said his drove decent untuned.
