918s will handle 0.600 lift easily. Thats nowhere near their limit. They will coil bind at ).625 or thereabouts so you have heaps of room left. I run 0.600 lift with 918s and dyno run after run no floaties. I also run the crane 1.8RRs so my ramp rate will be killer compared to yours.

243s would be my suggestion, you'll end up wanting a bigger cam anyways. I have them with my 224/228

i have a tr224, not installed yet. i've been considering the new budget 243 heads from patriot, tsp, and livernois. As previously stated, they all have large cc intake ports,
227cc, 237 cc, 220 cc. For this reason I also have decided to pass on these. My goal is not peak hp. My goal is power under the curve and throttle response as well as good power to about 6300 rpm.

I'm now leaning toward the as cast dart 205's ($1400 complete) with a little home clean-up and blending. Still waiting for some dyno results with these heads and comparable cam.

I think you are right about the tune, or maybe something else could be up. Those #'s are kind of low for that cam and longtubes.

anyone have some numbers for a 224 through manifolds but no cats and a highflow exhaust with something other than stock heads?

I dynoed 382wrhp and 380rq through a 6mt with stock heads. I'm thinking about a budget set of Ls6 heads to go with the manifolds, would this be worth it?

I'm torn between AFR 205's, Patriot 243's & PRC 234's or 5.3's.

If i remember right, I was in the 360's with stock manifolds, cats, and a SLP CME. The headers jumped me up to the upper 380's.

I always read about awesome heads and great dyno results from them, but it's always with a much larger cam than my TR224. Which heads would net some nice gains with this cam? I've been reading up on the LS6 heads that TSP has for $850 or so, which are very tempting, but don't know how well they'd do with a smaller cam. It's about time I took the plunge for a set of heads and any help would be appreciated.
My numbers are in my sig. I using TSP/PRC stage 2.5 (5.3litre) heads. The tune is just as important. 440-450'ish rwhp
