Unhappy all kinds of problems

its been about 2 months since i installed my cam, and i've about given up on trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with my car..

#1- Tach Doesnt Work
#2- No Power when floored from a roll or cruise
#3- Revs up when in P or N

details:
before the cam, all i had was a K&n fipk, SLP maf,tb, flowmaster catback, and diablosport predator, then i installed everything below...NOW it hasnt ran the same. the SES light is on, and the codes are 106, 121, and 343, and i cant get rid of them! i changed both the map sensor and the camshaft sensor (121 and 343) and messed around with about everything but the codes are still showing and the tach still isnt working.

now the way the engine acts is freakin weird. SOMETIMES it runs normal and fine, but most of the time it is hard to start and keep idling, but it will idle. sometimes, when i shift it from p to r or [d] it shifts really hard, and chirps the tires. now i say SOMETIMES, because a few times it has not done this and ran normal , but MOST OF THE TIME, it shifts hard. now when i'm driving from a roll and floor it, there is no power and the car accelerates as if i was barely pushing the pedal.... now there have been times that it does down shift and throw you back in your seat like it should when floored, but it is RARE!

now in doing all of this, THERE IS MORE! after driving for awhile, if i put it in p or n, it revs up to like maybe 2 or 3 g's for a min or so and eventually slows back down to idle. like i said with the other things, there have been a few times where this hasnt happened, and it never revs up or anything!

sorry for the essay, but i'm about ready to torch the car cause its been like 2 months that this has been happening ....any help would be greatly appreciated

Ok, First of all...

I think that you might have not gotten everything connected up correctly, or you are missing a ground wire somewhere that might have accidentally become disconnected. The other thing that could be happening might be due to the fact that you didnt go Dot 2 Dot on the cam and crank gears with the timing chain.

You might also have a bent valve or might have damaged the cam bearing somehow.

And lastly, this car sounds like it is un-tuned.

Sounds like it's all tuning related issues. Take the predator tune off the car and go get it dyno tuned. Also, might want to think about taking off the SLP maf and putting your stocker back on. Too many times have I seen guys having problems with aftermarket maf's.

Also, you said you replaced your cam position sensor, you might want to think about doing a crank relearn procedure. This can only be done with a tech 2.

Get a regular tune in the car (hptuners, ls1edit, EFI flashscan) and most of your problems will dissapear.

I wonder if you pinched the wiring on the intake. Check the wiring from computer to the sensors with an ohm meter. If the cam sensor is acting up then you will have no power. The cam sensor sets the timing for cylinder 2-8. Crank just sets the number 1 timing cycle. I am thinking you have some pinched or burnt wires if the tach and cam and map sensors are coding. Those are two very important sensors and I don't see tuning correcting the problem. Pull the intake off and see what you can find.

i had the same exact probem with my old Acura 2.5TL.. Its Idle was terrible, and would shoot up to 3K then back to 1K etc... When putting it into gear, it was REALLY jerky.. My tires would chrp too when going into drive, but that was just b/c it was idling @ 3KRPMs, so its like dropping the clutch @ 3K so it makes sence... Long story short, I sold that piece of dog **** before it caused me more problems..

sorry i cant help, but i can relate to the frustration... GL with that man!

I agree with that this sounds like a severe tuning related issue. Ditch the Predator and have it professionally tuned or have someone local that is an experienced tuner have a look at your car.

i did take out the predator tune..that thing was worthless! waste of money! it is mail order tuned by PCM4less. when i talked to them, the guy (Bryan i think?) said that he had tuned hotcams before..so i dont think the tune should be f!cking it up that much? but i am planning on a dyno tune after school is done and there is time to make the drive (3-4 hours) but i wasn't sure if these problems were more than tuning.....

well i was careful as f!ck when i handled the new cam and put it in... it was only kept in the box it came in till it was installed.... what would cause a bent valve? i upgraded all the valvetrain **** too... pushrods, springs, etc...

also my oil pressure seems kind of high. i got the LS6 oil pump from TSP and thats whats in there now. when i start it up, it is around 60, maybe a little bit lower, and thats at idle. when i'm on the freeway or accelerating fast, it shoots up to near 80 if not right on it. is that normal too or not? no oil is leaking anywhere that i know of... ****!

well thanks for all the help guys.. i really appreciate it!
