Default How much does a 408 weigh and who to ship through?

The title says it all. Whats the 408 longblock weight and who are you guys shipping through. I bought one private party. Im wanting to do air freight since I live in Hawaii and dont want to wait a month for the boat to show up. Thanks for the help.

One option I used to use when I was in Hawaii was air freight directly with the airline. You can go to the Delta Air Freight terminal near the airport and talk with them. I had a converter there one time the next day for less than $50. The sender will have to get the item to an airport though.

I shipped a 408 short block (iron) about 2 years ago. I made a pretty solid crate from wood. It all weighed about 385 pounds if I recall correctly.

Thanks alot. It is a iron block. I will try Delta and see whattheysay. DHL wanted around $1,500

delta density discount

You have to drop off and pick up at the terminal but thats how I used to always ship engines. Lot less then 1500 I'm sure.

Checked out Delta and yu have to be a known shipper. Ever since 9/11 they have all these restrictions. Im still looking

Try FedEx freight. They shipped my engine block 2500 miles for like $150 I think.
