Default will raising the compression increase HP?

I am having my heads milled to change the compression from 10.1:1 to 11:1. About how much of a HP gain will this give me?

a full point of compression is worth around 4% increase in hp and more importantly tq.

More importantly than that, higher compression engines provide more % increase when given more total open valve time, mostly more duration at higher lift and a tigher LSA. A 224/224 .580 114 cam will not yield as much as a 244/248 .620 112, when it comes to a higher compression.

Are you talking about more compression when you say a "224/224 cam will not yield as much as a 244/248 cam"??? The 224/224 given above will have a higher DCR compared to the 244/248 cam. I just ran the numbers, 8.38 compared to 7.76 DCR, using my hardware. So going with that larger cam with more overlap (all other factors being equal) will lower your DCR and kill bottom-end. You get that DCR back by using thinner head gaskets and/or milling the heads

A larger cam will almost always yield more (more air-flow, more peak power) compared to the smaller cam, higher compression or not, if that is what you are talking about.
