Default What type of lifters?

I am going to be installing my heads here in the next few weeks and was wondering what type of lifters would be best to use? I have heard some bad things about the Comp OE lifters. Any ideas?

I just bought the comp oem lifters. It's the comp 'r' lifter that I was advised to stay away from. Don't know why.

Morels if you can get them are the best.

I've heard that, but over 300 for lifters seems a little pricey to me.

If they were $3XX I'd buy them, I think they're a little over $500 for a hydraulic set-up.

I got a set of comp 850-16's NIB out of the for sale section for like 150 bucks. These are the oem replacements.

We were talking about the morels. I'll probably end up getting the 850-16's though.

I went with mellings. Morels are too expensive. Comp OE's are supposedly good, while the Comp-R lifter lose the roller axle which will eat your motor.

From the sound of things it looks like I'll be going with the Mellings. There is no way in hell I am going to spend over $500 on lifters. I have just not heard that many good things about the Comp's.

I'm interested too. I was told by a respected tuner that he recommends either Morel or stock because they don't bleed down like the others (he was mainly talking about both Comp lifters and Crane lifters). I don't know how the Mellings fit into that picture, but would like to know.

However, can someone tell me specifically why the stock lifters aren't good enough? I've done a lot of research into the "sewing machine" noise and almost everyone who has stock lifters report them being quiet.

Thanks
