Perhaps the hardening on the rollers was greater than the heat treat on the cam in your case, so the rollers survived. Now if the two were close to equal, you culd get the repeated chewing up of lifter rollers I had in my case.

Yeah, but I get ripped on if I badmouth the cam. After seeing how smooth my new comp grind is, I truly believe it has something to do with the texture of the cam motion grind. Even now after 12K miles on my now useless f13, you can still see the tooling marks on the lobes. Dont get me wrong, i loved this cam while i was running it, but im starting to see way too many futral cams with lifters getting chewed up. Its not limited to the futral cams by any stretch, but if you look, youll see its the majority. I truly hope futral can remedy the situation cause theyve got a great cam profile with the f-13.

Mine went out around 14k miles

How can I find out if it's my cam or what that caused the damage?

Should I ask Futral if they are willing to look at the cam or have someone else do that?

Oh and my springs are manley duals .650 lift

I had a 6800 rev limit, which I only came close to once. I had only seen my 6400 shift light come on maybe two dozen times with that cam.

Morel has the lifters. They are going to have their lab look at the lifters and they are going to send them off to an OEM lifter mfg for analysis. This may take a couple of weeks but I will keep you posted.

Yes, I will see that the results, good, bad, or ugly get posted.

I am a little concerned after talking with a few others that the results might be seen as biased since a neutral evaluator is not being used... with all respect for cstraub for stepping and looking into this for us...

I'm thinking the same thing. What cam did you have in your car?

I'm anxious for the results.

Why does my lifter look so bad compared to all the pics in this thread?

Morel will fax a copy of the report to me from the testing lab. Sidestep you can come over and read it and post a picture or scanned image of the report on this site for everyone to read. That's all I can do. If anyone else wants to pay for the testing of the lifters then they can post their results as well.
