A few questions before swapping lifters

A few questions before swapping lifters So my lifters have finally given up on me and this weekend they will be replaced. Hopefully they have not scarred my cam.
Just running through a check list making sure I'm not missing anything...
Comp 850 lifters - What kind of prep work do these need before I install them? I read somewhere that there is a protective coating and that you also need to let them soak in fresh oil for x number of hours????
Head, header (not a necessity but for the peace of mind), water pump gaskets
GM head bolts
LS2 lifter retainers which will also be cross drilled - any info or pics on where to drill these would be greatly appreciated.
Stage 8 locking header bolts (also for the peace of mind)
I will be following the head swap from ls1howto
