Default Max Stock Motor Output

Wonder if someone will give me there opinion...

What is the max stock motor output? I have heard several things regarding the max hp down here in Houston and wonder if anyone can enlighten me.

What is the weakness of the LS1 motor?

How much rwhp can I gain with cat removal with forced induction.

thanks

I've heard the ringlands on the pistons go at about 600hp, they'll collapse and pinch the rings. Bad Juju! Next would be the rods, but I think 600 is ok on stock rods. The stock crank has survived 900+hp in some cases.

Whats are you planning Andy? More boost or more spray?

I've always been told that the stock rod bolts are the weakest link...

**** man, the rods and pistons are junk. They'll go to about 500 rwhp, after that it's a crap shoot. The stock crank is good to 1200 flywheel. Harlan ran 8s and many people in the 9's on stock crank.

i think it's the pistons. it seems that a lot of the high hp guys (forced induction) crack #7 before they chuck a rod or anything else.

high rpm will kill anything. and to make the stock rod bolts show their weakness, you need high rpm.

How did you know it was me? How are you and hope all is well with you.

Well, 2 psi more on TT and with the cats gone should free up a little bit more rwhp. Also tuning, hopefully this friday, over at nelsons performance, if it doesnt rain.

Thanks for the incite. Everyone makes me nervous with the rwhp I put down. Maybe its a matter of time

Take care and see you out on the streets!!!

I have heard that 500rwhp is the max also...maybe the C5 TT is a running time bomb

What rpm range are they suggesting to keep it under?

thanks

See I have heard the opposite, that the rods were junk.

Thanks by the way for sharing. I hear so many different things that I dont know if I am over the limit, near the limit or anytime going to blow the thing up.

I dont want to destroy the car. I want the C5 TT w/ TNT to perform within the parameters of the stock motor.

Anyhow, I have finished my Porsche C2 3.8, many years ago, and that took a while, so I dont want necessarily to undertake that kind of project again.

thanks
