which cam for 5.3 carbed or 5.7 carbed ls1 i am building a iron block 5.3 aluminum truck headed engine.i may go with stock 5.7 boring.what kind or power with home slightly-ported heads?they are truck heads that have been cleaned up on the intake.exhaust side is polished to mirror finish.slightly larger valves will be filling the chambers.which cam should i go with?i do not want to go with hot cam.which intake?gm performance or edelbrock?i already decided to go with carb and msd unit because my friend went with carb on a stock 5.7 ls1 and got beautiful power out of it.these things love carbs.i also might go with a 125 shot of juice but undecided.
