If you cant get GC, id go with M1 5W40( Wal-mart only though). If you cant get that, id go with M1 0W40.....just my opinion

mobil 1 isnt bad like some people try to make it seem. mobil 1 has more automakers recommeneding it than any other oil. you acctually have to use it in alot of higher end cars or your warrenty is void. i'm an auto mechanic by profession. every engine i tear apart that has mobil 1 in it you know it. it keeps everything sparkling clean. but i can only compare it to dino oil.

People are saying that Mobil changed that to 5w30, and I am not disputing that, just saying my place still has the 5w40 available....for now.

It's not that Mobil 1 is bad, just that there are better oils out there. A lot of people think that because Mobil 1 is factory fill in a lot of high end cars that it must be the best, but the main reason it's factory fill is that Exxon/Mobil is a huge global company!

Mobil 1 5w30 and 10w30 are not a good match for the LS1, oil analysis results have proven this. And a lot of people also notice a lot more oil consumption with these thinner oils too.

what do you guys recommend for maximum protection.I run mobil one now 10-30 but put in the suv 5w-40 the last change. My car has only 15k miles on it if that matters.i hear about the amsoil, castrol etc..i will give up a couple ponies for some added armor.
