Thumbs down Blowing dipstick

I noticed that after ran @ the track the other night that my dipstick had been pushed out of the tube. Anyone had this happen before w/ out a ring being bad or should I expect the worst. Also does removing the PCV system and going to breathers/catchcans help this issue?

Sounds like blowby...EXCESSIVE BLOWBY. You've likely cracked a ringland... A leak down test could determine which cylinder is possibly the culprit.

The blowby is pressurising the sump, try a leak down test to see where the damage is at (i.e. which cylinder is bad). I have seen a blown LS1 shoot the dip stick out like an arrow on the dyno not a nice sight....

Does the dipstick blowing out guarentee that one of my cylinders is bad or is there possibility that it's something less dramatic?

no , you're building more crankcase pressure than the pcv valve can handle

are you running N2O or a blower?

My vortec 350 blew the dipstick out on a 150 shot

of course it ate a couple pistons during the same race.
