Default Talk me into a cam!!!

Here's the lowdown. I already have a cam, its done me good, but now Ive just went to a nice set of heads and I have since added pretty much all the other bolt-ons since.

But after chatting around Ive realized that since I got a new set of heads, plus I plan on installing an U/D pulley at the same time, Id be stupid not to do a cam change. Or moreso It'd be the most opportune time to do so.

SO here it is, there's so many cams out there right now, and I want one thats going to signifigantly show me gains over what I already have. Otherwise Im not gonna change it.

I currently have a TSP231 its 231/231 .598/.598 the heads are patriot stage II ls6 style heads with chambers welded to 59cc.

Im open to any suggestions only major requirements for me are, I dont want to have to flycut my pistons, and it is taken on some trips, I do like some driveability, I have had no complains with what I already got for a cam, in that department, so I dont know if others are any worse.

So here it is, what cam is worth the time/money to upgrade to!!

ps. anything else you might wanna know is listed in my sig, if not, plz ask.

What is wrong with the 231? Why not try a 231/237 grind.

IF you want big with good reaction to the spray, go with the MS3. But your heads might cause a problem going that big for Piston to Valve Clearance...

FWIW if you aren't dissatisfied with the performance of your current cam then why change it? Change for the sake of change is IMO a little silly. On the other hand if you aren't happy with the cams performance then by all means change it out

I would not change the 231 unless I was gonna go BIG, like really BIG.

Like I posted, I wont change for the sake of change. If there is a cam out there that will give me better all around performance over what I currently have, then Id like to change it out while my heads/intake and front pulleys are off. That's the opportune time.

A solid roller will give you performance enough for change.

That would be difficult
But if you're willing to sacrifice bottom end for more top then MS3, G5X4 or similar, but (there is always a but), then PTV becomes an issue.

See the TSP 231/231 is the ancestor of the Torquer cam
TSP 231/231 > TSP 233/233 > TSP 232/234 (torquer V2)
{LOL torquer evolution}

If it will fit go with the MS3...but the cam you have seems like it is great anyway.

Yeh, I would love to see a dyno over dyno difference between my cam and a MS3 or similar. That would make up my mind fairly quick. Or, more importantly, a couple timeslips from each. Im more concerned about 1/4mi performance than I am what its gonna say on a dyno.

Why not have something custom ground from somebody after providing all the specifics of your setup to them.

I believe TSP will custom grind a cam for you. If this is not the case please correct me.

I think you should go with an fm14 from futral on a 112 with no advance.its an awsume cam great driveability and superb torque at all times.my other suggestion would be a lg motorsports cam they are almost as good as the futral in my opinion.
