Default Piston/valve clearance issues with F13?

I've been looking for a cam for my car with mods in sig in the past 6 months and have come to deciding on the Fm13. I told a local guy the specs 230/232 598/585 112 and he was saying it's way too big for a dd with stock heads. I ofcourse argued that it's been known to be one of the main dd consider cams for cars with stock heads along with the tr 224. He was saying i'm gonna have piston/valve clearance issues and i should just stray away so i decided to make this post and get peoples opinions. Thanks in advance

Sounds like the same guy that told me my 3800 converter was way too big to drive on the street.

2 people in town here have it on stock heads, and yes, it's completely fine. Not to mention the tons of people on here that have one. I drove one of those cars, same size stall, and it drove exactly like mine part throttle driving around town, at least until I laid into it. The drivablility is awesome.

If that's what you decided to get, just get it, the guy obviously doesn't know ls1's.

Check sig, it works fine. Don't believe everything people tell you; ask the guys that have tried it.

Installed by me "dot-2-dot" and there are no problems. Tell the guy you've heard it right from hte horses mouth. I am sure others will chime in. I'd say go bigger. LOL

Yes, plenty of people are running even bigger cams in their daily drivers with stock heads. This cam will work great!

That guy really doesn't know what he's talking about. I have this cam on LS6 heads without issues and many people are running shaved 62 cc heads with this combo so there is a lot of PV clearance with stock heads. The daily driver thing is subjective, it depends if you are in stop and go traffic the whole time and what you feel comfortable with as far as clutching in stop and go.

Stock heads no problem, call Futral before you buy and ask them.

Stock f13 and f14 are ground with 4* advance.

I'm one of those guys going for 62cc heads and an f14. I'm also running 2.02" intakes. I'm told it will work, but I will be spending some time double checking P to V during assembly.

You might need to change your rear gears to really enjoy the f13.
