Bolts instead of studs

Default Bolts instead of studs

Can the bolts right next to the studs (red circle) be used in place of the studs (blue circle)?

I wouldnt. Studs are a stronger fastner than a bolt.

I figure a bolt is about all I can go with. I'm using a racing dry sump oil system and my pan is really shallow, so shallow that I can't run the factory studs one side....

No, they are different lengths. And they are both actually bolts, the ones with the stud end are there to hold the factory windage tray.

Who's pan do you have? My drysump pan fits fine with ARP studs and they are longer on the outer set to hold a factory tray.

easiest solution is to just cut the stud portion off. Are you forced to stick with the factory bolts??

I have the ARE pan, it's really nice and shallow. I wanted the Le Mans pan because of the 1.4 inch depth. I'm building a conversion LS-1/T-56 powered 300ZX (Z32). I am not forced to use the factory bolts, but, I'm not sure what to get. I was kinda thinking about modified ARP studs.
