One thing I did notice is when I first put a breather on the drivers side valve cover nipple (normally capped) it didn't vent and pushed up the dip stick. When I put the breather on the passenger side it vented fine under WOT and has worked for many miles. Not sure what your friend did.
I have a similar situation I adapted a breather onto the driver side pcv and plugged the intake vacuum line. I took the passenger side off and noticed there wasnt any vacuum to it at idle so I left it. Now 4 weeks later I have alot of corrosion on the dipstick and Im convinced its from gases being pushed out the dipstick tube. Will Putting a breather on the passenger side eliminate the corrosion problems on the dipstick?

i got a breather on and ran 3/8 inch hose from valve cover to valve cover in the back and plugged the intake manifold nipple and she runs great.

I'm getting pressure build up as well. My dipstick pops out and shoots a little oil on my valve cover. I'm running about 12lbs of boost. I have a breather on the passenger side valve cover and a cap on the driver side valve cover. From what I've read, you shouldn't have a breather on with the pcv setup? Should I cap the passenger side valve cover that has the breather, just like the driver side?

Make sure your PCV valve is working correctly and not gummed up. Your PCV valve should be setup so it allows air to flow from the PCV system into your intake, but not let air from your intake into your PCV system. If there is air pressure getting from your intake to your crankcase via the PCV system (oil dipstick tube popping out), then it sounds like your PCV valve is bad.

Otherwise remove the system and cap off the lines to the throttle body and run a breather in the valve covers.

On my LS1, I'm doing what someone on the first page mentioned and connecting both valve covers via a 3/8" vacuum hose and then running a breather on my oil fill cap.
