your thoughts on this custom grind:
238/246 - .600/.610 - 110+0, on xe-r lobes.
the car is a toy and driveability doesn't matter. i want a track-based cam with insane top end that doesn't require shift points over 7k. i like the t-rex, but it requires more attention than i want to give. i have a stalled auto and will move on to a th350/whatever size stall i need - after my 4l60e dies.
i think this combo would give me peak hp ~6,200 and carry to somewhere around 6,900/7k.
anyone have any experience with a cam similar to this? thanks in advance.

What other mods do you have i.e. Heads, headers, gears, intake etc....? I think with those lobes and the duration & lift, you are going to have to inspect your valvesprings at the same intervals as with the T-Rex. If you are looking for a cam that is going to do the things you want, you will have to give it attention.

all bolt-ons. 3" true duals w/x dumped at the axle. ls6 intake...stock heads currently, i will upgrade to ported ls6 heads mid-late this season.
the "attention" i was referring to with the t-rex is 7,200 rpm shift points, 410+ gears, 4400+ stall, and the loss of mid-range power.
i know i'll have to give attention to the valvesprings, any large cam demands at least that much. i just think that my stock shortblock will live a lot longer under 7k than it will over 7k, hence my choice of duration/lsa. i'm really trying to get a feel for the 110+0 lsa. almost EVERY cam i've seen has AT LEAST 2* advance ground into it. grinding in advance moves the powerband down a little, but compromises hp & tq at the top of the band.
cams with advance ground into them are for street cars.
