So, if we could just get each atomized fuel droplet dimpled somehow.....

Lexus did this on the bottom of some cars, don't know which one/s or if they still do.

Let's see,
so what we're saying here is that an f-body with serious hail damage will turn faster track times?
Or would it only work on a blunt car like a VW beatle?

Hey didn't Lance give up one ******** to cut down on wind drag?
Seems less painful than dimpling. Either way, that's dedication!

I 100% know for a fact that Byron Hines (Yance and Hines / Pro Stock Motorcycle) was doing this years ago on the theory of increase air velocity and in theory of increase fuel atomization. I do know that they have ditched this idea for one reason or another.

Just as a matter if interest.we do in fact want to promote turbulance in the INTAKE port.
This is why nobody polishes the surface of the intake port to a mirror finish anymore.
The port should have a consistent shape with no waveyness on the surfaces(as in dips and hollows)but the surface finish should be rough in texture to promote boundry layer turbulance and promote better mixing of the fuel/air.
How rough is a matter of debate and each engine builder has his own theory.
The problem with applying aerodynamic theory to intake port design is aeroplanes dont fly through a fuel air mix. With a polished port finish a large proportion of the fuel sticks to the port wall and creats a patchy mixture, depending on the engines operating temp.So all the data isn't necessarily transferable.
Ciao
