Default Quick cam question....

I just got a used G1 cam from a member here, and I thought it was just the standard G1 cam.

But upon opening the box, at the end of the cam it says

MTI G-1 on 115 LSA and then under that it says +4....what does that mean?

+4, I believe is the degree added to the cam. Did you know this when you bought the cam?

I just read the cam guide that's a sticky on this forum and it says that normally +2 or +4 advance is ground into most off the shelf cams, so maybe it's like this.

But usually the G1 is on a 113 LSA, not a 115 LSA. And I didn't know this when I bought it..

Maybe it was a special grind cam with the original owners specs.

I don't know, I'm going to contact MTI and figure out what is going on. I'm sure it's a special grind of the G1.

The 115 is the LSA, +4 refers to the ICL being 111. The normal G1 cam a 113 LSA and an ICL of 109. I have a 115 LSA version sitting in my basement. It will have a very good idle but will give up low-end TQ compared to the 113 LSA version...

So it will have strong low end torque, and the advanced timing will give me more power in the higher region of my powerband?
