stock LS1 heads porting hints and giudes?
i might use these heads with a G5X-4 cam temporarly before i get a stroked L-92 short block.
any one tried porting LS1 heads.
for the Gen 2 LT1 small block chevy i about know how to :
* open up the bowl area
* not opening much the port
* matching the roof with bowl area
* leaving the short side radius untouched except some little polishing
* same for the port floor as the short side radius
* also opening up the fast wall.
* i will use stock valves.
does that apply to the LS1 heads?
thanks.

Unfortunately I was in a rush to get them on the car so I dont have any finished pics. Im VERY pleased with the results.
i have hand ported ls1 241 castings with 2.02 intake valve and 1.6 exh valve i will try to post pic and dyno results b4 and after head porting , i think u should consider:
1- unshrouding the exh valve its a pretty small chamber u know
2-the bump in the intake port where the thread for the rocker arms sit
3- short side could be left or at least polished.
4- polish chamber to mirror finish and some how detail the spark plug boss and remove harsh edges around the corners of the chamber.
