Default Stroker Kits ?

I have a 99 SS LS1 auto with minimum upgrades. What size can the LS1 be stroked out to ? And what is the performance gains between them in HP and torque ?

the stock LS1/LS6 aluminum block can be stroked out to a 383 by going to a 3.905 piston and a 4" stroke crank. you can go bigger IF you want to re-sleeve the block(expensive to do).
gains will have more to do with the complete setup, heads cam etc. of course just going from 346 to 383 would give more power, but you would not want to use the stock heads/cam/intake IMO

346 vs 383 = 37 more cubes,
About 30 to 50 more HP and TQ.

If you already have a good set of heads (ETP), a large cam (trex) and a good intake setup (90/90), how much would it cost to complete the 383 stroker setup? I don't have all these parts yet, but I will eventually. I may want more power and am just curious as to how much money it would cost to take it to the next step. Also, if doing a 383 what size head would you want to run? 245? Thanks

i was thinking of getting one of the Lunati Stroker packages from Thunder Racing. One of the 383 packages, to be exact. I am not sure which one would best fit me, though. How do i tell?

lunati now makes a 395 stroke for the ls1 and ls6

I paid $2300 for an eagle rotating assembly and $120 to hone block.

Now, on top of the rotating assembly and honing the block I would still need pistons, or is that included in the rotating assembly?

I went through this a couple months ago. Most people will recommend just getting a built 402/408 instead of doing a 382/383/396 because they are so close in price. I may still do a stroker eventually and will keep an eye on this post.

I believe a PROPERLY built 408 will run you close to 10k, a 402 may be slightly less. If you can get the rotating assembly for 2300 and then just have the block honed you're set. Esp. if you already have a good set of heads, a cam and a good intake. I'd rather spend around 3k for a stroker than 10k for a 408.

93-EA035-383 Lunati LS1 383 Rotating Assembly, 3.903" Bore, -8cc Reverse Dome Piston, 4.000" Stroke, 6.125" Rod Length, 10.6:1 compression ratio ...3995.75

is this a good kit? what else would i need beside a set of good flowing heads, good intake, and a custom cam? thanks!

Are those pistons you mentioned UnZFeat'd forged? Do you know how much it would cost to bump them up to forged??

So to build the stroker you just need the kit for 4k? I'll have good heads and a 90/90 setup and I'll probably use the Trex cam for a while. What size heads would be good on a 383? Would the ET215s be to small? Would the ET 245s be to large??
