what viscosity oil should i run breaking in my motor?

What motor? Stock LSx engine? Built? Rebuilt? Who built it? Engine builder is the best person to ask, though I'm sure somone on here can get you pointed in the right direction if you give a tad more info.

forged 347,mahle pistons,scat rods, tea heads,trex, comp lifters, tsp oil pump, meziere water pump,stock crank, all new bearings

GTX 10w40 for break in. From Patman:

"I would recommend going with Castrol GTX 10w40 for the break in, and just use a cheap oil filter such as the Walmart Supertech, or STP or a regular AC Delco."

FYI: I don't know how well that advice will pertain to your exact setup, my guess is that it will apply, but I would take Patman's oil advice as one step below the word of God. That man knows his oil.
