Default Something isnt right..

Well last week i just installed a 232/238 595/605 on a 112 and mti stage 2 heads as well as a 3600 stall. Well its not exactly what i expected... Don't get me wrong Mti and there techs busted there asses on my car.. im only getting 78 miles to the full tank.. its hoorible.. this cant be right
i expected a little less gas mileage but not like this... the car will fall flat on its face when the ac is turned on.. and is impossible to drive sometimes even with a tune by jason... is the cam to big or what??? being 18 i dont have that much experience with all this ,but what 18 doesnt want good performance with a bad *** lope.. any suggestions

Sounds like it running way too rich. Take it back to MTI and see what they can do. Your O2 sensors may need replacing as well.

No way dude, are you sure your calculations are OK??

78/16= 4.75 miles /gallon

Now 178/16 is 11.125 mpg and that is possible if your tune is out of whack.

Dude what kind of BS is that?
He should be able to tune it better or at least advise you as to what the issue is.
Something is fishy and stinks.

Man I'd think you'd just about have to be shooting raw fuel out the exhaust if you're only getting 78 miles to a tank. I can't believe they told you "that's the best we can do for now". Take it to tsp and get a real tune.

Maybe somebody is taking your car out for a joy ride and resetting the trip, without filling up the tank.

Unless all 78 of those miles were under constant hard acceleration, than you might actually get milage that awful.

I don't think it is your cam. Has to be the tune. Take it somewhere like stated above for a second opinion.

You need to get it settled with MTI before you spend another 500 bones on another tune. I wouldn't have that crap. Something's wrong and they need to fix it. Shoot if you took your 02 sensors out it would probably run better than that

haha, you do realize that TX is about 1,000 miles across, right? TSP isn't even close to Houston.

Just take it back and have the car checked out. Did it make any power on the dyno?

Chase - as I told your Dad on the phone this morning, there's obviously something wrong and that's why he's bringing the car to us this afternoon - it's going to stay here until it's 100%.

After discussion today, both Jayson and I think that the torque converter has got some major issues that are affecting the car so we're going to pull it, send it back to Yank, have them check it out and fix whatever's wrong.

We're also going to keep working on the tune and tweaking it until you're happpy, bottom line.

We've never not stood behind anything that we've done on your car. I have always and will always be available to both you and your Dad and I think you know from dealing with us thus far that we're here to make sure you're 100% satisfied. Let's see what we can get done on the car in the next few days and hopefully we'll have some positive news to report soon!

Regards,

David
