Killed a lifter tonight in the 418 need some suggestions on what to go with
I have the comp replacement lifters in there and one is ticking like a **** right now and its temp related at first when cool it will not tick then when the oil gets thinner it starts its song. I am running the cam in my sig but I am going to replace it with something in the 248 range with ~.630 lift. It will be spun close to 7K when I put a nice intake on there. I did a search and came up with the morels and mellings seem to be recommended. Anybody else ahve any input. Im going to be running some dual springs for sure and throw on some Jesel j2k rockers so I can adjust the preload on the lifters of whatever I get.

Just run the mellings replacements and be done with it. I have never trusted the comps, no matter how much the sponsors ride comp's dick. I have never heard of a mellings failure and probably never will. Just do a search and see the difference.

Let me put this little tid bit in your head.......there are only two or three manufactures that make all the lifters for EVERYBODY. The melling and the Comp are probably the same identical lifter.....

After doing further research I am going with the Morel lifters they look better have better oiling and look stronger. I do not trust any design even closely related to the comps as that is what I have in there now and killed a lifter with only 3K on it. Im going to try the morels which everyone seems to be having good luck with.
