Default longer pushrods with 230/232 .592/595 XE-R cam

I have a 230/232 .592/.595 XE-R Comp Cam (not installed yet) and read alot about valve train clatter. I have stock length push rods (7.400) and was wondering if a longer push rod would help. I don't want to put this together and have excessive valve train noise. Any information on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

With stock heads and gaskets, 7.450" pushrods are a more ideal length with an XE-R lobed cam.

TR said I would lose alittle power. How much!!! If it is 3-4 hp loss, i'd rather have it quieter.

It all depends on your Base circle measurement.
Stock cammed lifters have an average of .100 preload
7.450 might take you over that on some lifts, which is not ideal with big durations.
've been running .060>.080 with 7.425, things are quieter and still leave a little room to breath on pump up at high rpms.

Im running .011 over stock preload. Didnt show any pumpup irregularities on the dyno to 6800. Graph was nice an smooth. Valvetrain is reasonably quiet except for a little sewing machin noise from the dual springs. Much quieter than my f13 with .030 under preload.
