As for the RP, its one of the thinner oils available. Its analysis results are nothing fantastic. RP racing oils are thicker and hold up better.

despite the fact that my oil gets dirty quick (around 2k miles) should i still wait to change it? m1 5w40 for example...
i have tried various oils and weighs..they all get dirty around 2k (this is apparent after doing 4 oil changes). i have been changing it when it gets dirty, and by dirty i mean dirty enough that i can't see through it to the dipstick. not BLACK like tar..
car always carries good oil pressure and uses ~1/2 quart per 3k miles.

I'm currently using Royal Purple 5w30 and it seems to run pretty strong. I'm changing my oil this weekend so I hope I can get more info on where I can get the German Castrol 0w30. I have seen Mobile1 0w40, how's this oil? Is Amsoil another brand of oil? Can I find this at Autozone or Kragens?

GC is the 0W30 that has a red label on the 0W30 part and on part of the back of the bottle and says "Made in Germany" on the back bottom portion of the bottle.
The 5W40 is known as Belgian Castrol since it is made there. However, there is a new formulation that is made in USA so you have to make sure that it says "Made in Belgium" on the back of the bottle.
The GC is the better but BC is not far off.....

I tried running GC a couple months back, and for whatever reason, I was burning a lot of it during regular driving. Burned even more than when I ran M1 5w-30. Needless to say I switched back to M1. Switched back to M1 0w-40 and burned one quart in 8000 miles.
I know many people like and recommend GC, but I gave it a try, and it didn't work out.

On my last interval with GC 0w30 I went 9000 miles and the oil analysis results showed it could've gone even longer. There was extremely low engine wear, no contamination, and the TBN was still at 5.
