Default Cam too big

Okay - so what are the symptoms of a cam being too big for either the torque converter or the car in general (vaccuum, etc)?

spinning the engine to 7k and not peaking? heh

i say no cam is too big as long as your engine is capable of using the entire powerband...of course this mean doing so without putting a window in your block because you're shifting at 7,400..

A cam is too big when you sacrafice more area under the curve for a higher peak dyno number. Many, over cam the car then wonder why they are getting walked by a much smaller cam.....If you go with a big cam and spin high you have to have the compression to get a good DCR or the small cam which has a higher DCR with less static compression is going to make more average power. Too big a cam requires more compression, higher peaks and is generally not very traffic friendly etc. Its different for each person and combo...
