Default Low oil preasure...help

My gauge is reading a steady 10psi. The needle isnt fluttering, or bouncing, and the motor isnt ticking or knocking so im pretty sure no bearings were spun. What could be the cause of this? Im totaly lost and this is my DD, I dont need this.

I romped on it a little and happened to look down and noticed the gauge was pointing where it shouldnt be, I didnt expect it at all. Nothing has been changed in the motor except the oil for the last 2.5 years. According to the dipstick the oil level is fine.

It goes up with RPM, but not like normal. I dont want to run it too high up in the RPM and chunk rods or risk spinning a bearing. Is it possible for the filter to be defective and restrict the flow of oil? thats the onlything I can think of off the top of my head.

Have that lined up for tomarrow morning, if that dosent fix it then I guess ill open the motor and take apart the oil pump to see if anything is stuck in there.

Yeah do that and if that doesn't work throw a new oil pump on it as a last resort. You'll need a new one anyways if it is the motor.

Changed the oil and filter, everything looked good, but now im thinking maybe its the sender. There was no metal in the oil, and considering I ran it through 2nd and 3rd twice before I saw the gauge and didnt throw a rod leads me to belive it may be the sender. Any thoughts?

I think you should check the sender.

I had mine fail on me after racing a vette and it scared the **** out of me.

Was a bitch to get at, but was the problem.

When it failed, did it read low, or not read at all?

I went to my friends house where the cas has sat for the last four days and drove it home tonight, its about a mile and a half away. It drove fine, not making any noises out of the ordinary. I watched it the whole way to make sure the gauge didnt drop to 0.
