Default 2nd times a charm :(

Well...im well underway of my h/c swap. I already did a cam swap on the car last year and everything went perfect.

So what do you know...now I got problems...here they are.

Dropped a lifter...forgot to take it out when I pulled the heads, must have missed one some how...what a bitch.

whats the best way to get it out???...I REALLY dont want to mess with the oil pump tube again!!! that was a pain...the o-ring on it scares me...and I almost drop the bolt trying to get it back in.

But...I might have to do it anyway because I have another problem. I bought a rollmaster single roller timing chain for it when I put the cam in last year. the damn thing is supposed to be stronger than the original and it is already stretched to hell. I think the stock one I pulled of at 85k miles was in better shape...whats the deal? Are they supposed to stretch that much and then stop?

thanks for the help

if the lifter is in the pan, sounds like your gonna go fishing.. I have had some isses with chains streching out early, they do stretch some but shouldnt be sloppy...best of lucck

You think I should probably just get an ls2 chain then? thats what I think I am going to do.
Can I still use my rollmaster sprockets?...or should I use my original sprockets if they are in good shape? I think they look identical but from doing searches it seems like everyone uses the stock sprockets with the ls2 chain. I would rather use the rollmaster because it is supposed to be a stronger gear and it is newer...but who knows after how the chain turned out

what if it didnt drop to the pan? am I screwed? where else should I look (lifters)

thanks
