Default Lifter tick related to oil pressure?

Excuse me I'm new to the LS1/F-Body but have a question. My T/A has developed lifter tick after it warms up. Initally when you start it the oil pressure is a constant 40-45, after it warms up and you're fully stopped or letting it idle (idles is 1,800RPM) the oil pressure falls to 25-30, if you give it some throttle it immediately goes back up to 40-45 no matter how high on the RPM band you go.

The lifter tick goes away after driving but then comes back, then it goes away again. The lifters are Comp R lifters and I'm replacing them this week with Morel's. But could the tick be related to the "lower" oil pressure. Also is that oil pressure too low? It never falls below 25-30 when it idles.

Thanks!

The LS1 oil pump is crank driven, so the pressure goes up as the rpms go up. You pressure is fine, I would suspect a collapsed lifter.

That's what I'm thinking also. But I'm worried that you're supposed to have 10psi for every 1,000RPM and no matter how high I go past 4,000RPM the oil pressure doesn't go any higher.
