Let's see here, 853 - 241 = ummm, looks like 612!
Seriously, I believe the 241s are later model heads, and they flow better than 853s, though I dunno how much better.

They same cast, just the 853 is sand cast, though , which makes the surface a little rougher, and if both heads are stock the 241s will flow better. If the heads are ported, then they perform the same.

thanks just wondering because when my car was under warranty i broke a pushrod and the dealer ship said it had a cracked head and put a new one on it well Zmoneypit just did a head and cam on my car (runs like a beast now) and i noticed the casting numbers were different thanks everyone
