Default What length pushrods should I buy?

I just purchased a Z06 cam from an '02 with the matching Yellow valve springs. I think it would also be a good idea to replace the pushrods at the same time. Should I stick with the stock length and just buy a hardened rod or go a bit bigger? What else should I do? Thanks

Dan

You Could Use The Stockers Depending On How Many Miles You Have On Them....or Just By Some Comp Cam 7.4 Chromemoly Pushrods For 119.75 Already Shipped

Thats What I Did

If you want to get the original preload value, and you are doing cam only with stock gasket and unmilled heads, 7.450 is what you need.

The SDPC LS6 Camshaft Kit makes your cam swap easy and painless. We include the GM LS6 camshaft (204/218 dur @ 0.050 and 0.550/0.550 lift), SD1423 valve spring kit with titanium retainers, Manley pushrods (7.450), Rollmaster double roller timing set plus all necessary gasket and seals and a new balancer bolt.

Note: The pushrods used in this kit are intended for use with LS1 heads only, Different length needed for LS6 heads. The block and LS1 heads must have factory deck surfaces. If the heads or blocks have been milled, the pushrods will be too long.
Just in case you don't believe me

Well my engine just rolled over 107K miles. I want to replace the stock rods, i heard they are weak. But now I have two opinions, one says use stock length, the other says go 7.450". Now I'm still stuck in the middle. Would I see any performance increase with the 7.450" rods?

You need 7.450" pushrods. It's not something to debate. It's what you use. The cam has a smaller base circle.

I used to run an 02 LS6 cam and got away with stock PR's and 6500rpm shifts for 6K miles. When I figured the optimum PR length I got .27" longer than stock. I would use a 7.425 PR and I can't figure out why SDPC is recommending the longer 7.450" PR's?

No, but you'll have the right preload and a quiet valvetrain.

(LS1 cam Base circle-LS6 cam base circle)/2 = p-rod length difference.

I KNOW I will see a performance increase with the Z06 cam. Will I see any HP increase with the 7.450" PR's? THanks guys!
