Another old school way of protecting #7 is to have all your injectors flow tested. Put the injector with the highest flow on #7. This way it will always be the richest.

I would do this: Put the highest flow injector in #7 and then the next highest in #8. Then work my way forward using the "next" highest flow injector, and so on...

I have read the above helps normalize the back pistons due to the fact they tend to get "more" air as compared to the very front intake runners...

I've done that and this is not really a fix since since the pulse width signal is the same.
It is an intake related issue.
Cure:
Independent TBs
Better intake runner design.
