Patriot Heads
#2
Patriot has stepped up in their product quality. Gunnar is killer with customer service.
They are one of the best bang for the buck.
If you get aftermarket valves, then go for the Ferrea option.

Header bolt holes, water jacket paper thin six of mine leak.
Head gasket surface not flat, needed to use a whole can of copper spray to stop coolant leaking, still not fixed. this is on a new decked iron block.
Pushrod holes, all have 2 holes joining in the middle like a number 8.
Am I happy

We have several options we can offer you. We can do a set of 5.3 heads, our LS6 style heads, or a set of our CNC ported 243 castings. Please give us a call or PM us and we will be glad to make a suggestion for your setup.

My concern is whats the deal with the multiple holes in the heads for the pushrods.

Cometics do leak. I had that problem on a New LS2 402 from SDPC with new AFR heads a friend and I did in his Z. New GM gaskets, then later, new felpro for more compression (sp) and no leaks with either gasket.

Calm down man, cometics are known to leak. It's the price you pay for a tight quench. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you start bashing a company. Nothing makes people look more stupid. Not that I'm calling you that, it's just that I think it's wrong for people to start complaining at the first sign of trouble, before they do some research or troubleshoot.
