Patriot has stepped up in their product quality. Gunnar is killer with customer service.
They are one of the best bang for the buck.
If you get aftermarket valves, then go for the Ferrea option.

If you decide on this brand only get the 243 LS6 casting and you should be fine. Also I've heard good things about their customer service as well.

If you were smart, and you appreciated the value of a dollar, you would go Patriot.

The LS1 community is lucky to have this option.

Header bolt holes, water jacket paper thin six of mine leak.
Head gasket surface not flat, needed to use a whole can of copper spray to stop coolant leaking, still not fixed. this is on a new decked iron block.
Pushrod holes, all have 2 holes joining in the middle like a number 8.
Am I happy

We have several options we can offer you. We can do a set of 5.3 heads, our LS6 style heads, or a set of our CNC ported 243 castings. Please give us a call or PM us and we will be glad to make a suggestion for your setup.

Why is this. You are limited to only one chamber size this way, and they don't flow any different as far as I know.

New patriot heads 8 weeks ago, new decked block everything new, put on header studs finger tight then placed on nuts finished both sides started new motor and after awhile water was leaking out everywhere, had to use RTV sealant in 6 holes to seal it, will see if the copper spray has worked on the other coolant leaks on head gasket surface. My concern is whats the deal with the multiple holes in the heads for the pushrods.

Your leaks wouldnt have anything to do with the cometics would it? Ok, so whats wrong with the header bolts, if they are only finger tight then thats why they leak. The extra holes in the heads are for aftermarket rockers.

He said header studs. The studs were probably finger tightened, but im sure he meant the nuts were torqued afterwards.

So your saying that the most expensive gasket around cometics have a problem sealing intresting. finger tight as in studs done up the way they should be, put headers on then the nut, no they should not leak coolant at all regardless of how tight, the point is that the water jacket behind the stud/bolt on my heads where that thin after torqued down poped into the cavity of the heads using very little pressure and yes used the correct ARP stainless studs.

Yep, do a search Ive seen threads in here were people are having issues with them sealing. I see what your saying on the studs though, even though Ive never had that problem before. Good luck with your problem. Like I mentioned abouve, have you contacted gunnar?

Cometics do leak. I had that problem on a New LS2 402 from SDPC with new AFR heads a friend and I did in his Z. New GM gaskets, then later, new felpro for more compression (sp) and no leaks with either gasket.

Calm down man, cometics are known to leak. It's the price you pay for a tight quench. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you start bashing a company. Nothing makes people look more stupid. Not that I'm calling you that, it's just that I think it's wrong for people to start complaining at the first sign of trouble, before they do some research or troubleshoot.

Look at some of the combos and what they are making with the other heads and you decide for yourself.
