Most people on here will tell you they wouldn't use a Fram oil filter on their lawn mower. Maybe just a filter, but connected to just your engine.

Fram filters are junk, they use cheap cardboard endcaps and cheap glue to hold them together. I wouldn't want one of those filters to go on a regular engine, let alone a high performance one.

I use Purolator Pure One filters. They are a little cheaper than M1 or KN.

I was working with a GM World Class Tech this week while in Training for my new job and he has an LS1 in this Race Truck. He said DO NOT use a PF 61 on our motors. The thread pitch is wrong and when the filter is 1/2 installed you can wobble it back and forth. Can cause the threads to strip.

Also......While in the parts room I noticed that SAAB uses a PF59C filter. I am going to try one on my new oil change next month and see if it works..........

What makes using a long filter better? I am using the short one M1 but I am thinking about going to a ac delco or K&N. Should I go long or short and why? I am going to get some of the 5-40W amsoil as soon as I can find it. I live in memphis tn and have not found somewhere to get it yet.

A larger straw will flow more fluid at the same pressure rate, or it will flow the same amount of fluid at a lower pressure. With more surface area you have the ability to get more fluid filtered at the same pressure.

Ditto, using the truck part number. I use to do the truck filter on my old SBC 406 too. One of the oldest tricks in the book.
