Default Ready for FM14

About a few months ago I put an LS6 cam and long tubes in. I replaced the intake valves, intake pushrods, new springs, and new lifters. The springs and lifters aren't stock LS1 parts. Well I have been running into weird problems with bogging and everything. I originally did the project so I could tear my engine apart and learn something.

I have been researching the FM14 cam and it seems like it would be pretty good for what I want to do. What I want to know is will it be fine to put into the car with the lifters and springs I have? I rarely hot rod the car and drive it pretty conservatively with this 3.10/gallon.... Opinions are greatly appreciated

You might want to list what springs they are?

An F14 is a .600" lift cam (.598) so any good springs that will support a .650 lift cam should work fine.

I bought PRC gold duals to run with an F14.

They are brand new LS6 springs I believe. Keep in mind I will rarely run the car hard.

you need to be concerned with the more aggressive ramp rates of the cam

I also strongly advise you to upgrade from the LS6 springs, even if you don't get on the throttle much.

Well, where can I find these springs.. I was hoping to keep it around $400. I am only 17. I am kinda iffy about tearing the engine down again, but I had fun.

what about coil bind?......arent ls6 springs only good for .570 lift. do the math, how can can they possibly work when the f14 has .598 lift. i personally went with prc golds with my f14.

Dual springs are the way to go, but you can shim a 918 and run .610 with no problems.

wouldnt shimming a spring reduce the spring height therefore causing more severe coil bind.

you will most likely need injectors to like 01ss was asking about. I well over maxed mine out, just got the SVO 30lbers in the mail yesterday.. just something else to consider
