Any pros/cons to different years blocks to build a shortblock?

Just wondering, have a chance to pick up a '98 model block, any drawback to that year as opposed to other years? TIA...

damn that sucks. I wonder when the cutoff was in 99? I have a 99 but would like to know which month they switched over.
