Even with a 4000 stall and 3.73s? I thought that a good highend cam would work best with my stall and gearing.
I'm still debating the 228r, I keep seing awesome times with the MS3 and haven't seen a lot of impressive times with the 228r. I'm not saying its not possible, but if its so much better, why doesn't everyone run them and have times to brag about? I'm not ******* that cam, just trying to get some debate going to help my decision.

Lot of people are saying that "people are overcamming these cars with ms3, g5x3 etc"
Than how come more tuners are coming out with bigger cams from there previous versions and going faster.
For example. Cartek usually runs smaller cam and gets it done, but they did come out with their new 4x cam (which is bigger) put more power on the dyno and proabably will go faster in the 1/4.
SO how does a 228r and ms3 car run the same. Doesnt make sense to me, I would think a ms3 car would walk on a 228r car.

So I wouldnt say people are over camming these cars. Bigger cam needs a few other things to shine. COMBO.
I think at 3k UP a MS3 car with the right combo will walk any cam smaller steadily.

Keep in mind set up. heads, convertor, gears, slicks, etc etc etc. Just cause you have alot of horepower on the dyno dont mean **** when it comes to goijng down the 1/4. 415 rear wheel horsepower 400 lb ft 3200lb car. went 11.18 121. Not much horsepower plenty et. 2500+ da when that time was ran.

i looked at the 228R....but then..I looked at the MS3, one of the baddest well known cams to date....it really is(if set uo properly)....so i went for it....i have yet to install so I will not fill this post up with false hopes....but the good news is YOU CAN ALWAYS CHANGE A CAM WITH MINIMAL WORK (compared to a head/cam swap)....hell if its to high end change it!
My vote MS3

My initial choice was also a 228R. I've read alot of people regreting to go one size bigger so TSP reccomended the V2 torquer. It would be nice to take a test drive on some cam cars but that's kind of hard. I can tell you this is a good streetable mid size cam.
