I just got doen installing the harland 1.7 rockers. I rotate the engine over and intake rocker and piston 1 (pictured) is staying compressed. I rotate the engine again, all rockers are working fine, but the one on piston 1 is not moving at all. The spring is staying in the compressed position.

Can you please help me out. Thanx

hmmm....Hope you arent going to have to pull the heads....
You might have other stuff that resulted from that due to that bad boy you are having knock your pushrods into the rockers! The trex is tough on the valvetrain, but I know you already knew that. Might want to once over those lifters. Just my .02 though.

I don't want to pull the heads as well, but if I have to then I have no choice.
Any other suggestion I should know about before I do start removing the heads?

This is stressing me out so much that I'm comtemplating on parting the car out and just go with something else.

Lol! No, keep the car. This is just one of those PITA things that come up only every now and then. You might have a collapsed lifter or something to that effect. Did you look at the pushrods or roll them on some glass surface when you had the rockers out?

I did roll all the pushrods on a very flat surface. They were all fine. I double checked the pushrod on the stuck spring and it was fine.

No I haven't. The place I got the engine from said compression ratio for all cylinders were all 200 +-10.

The car ran fine for about 10 miles. Engine has never been above 5000 rpm. When I flushed the engine there were no metallic pieces in there, just a lot of black sludge.

Must mean that they are hung up somewhere. Hopefully in or on the windage tray.

I think the valve is bent.

If the spring comes up to normal height with NO rocker in place, the valve is not bent. Put something long, flat and thing across the tips of the valves to see if they are at the same height.

Put a pushrod in the hole without the rocker and rotate the motor over, see if it goes down and back up easily.

Put one of your good stock rockers back on and check to see if it fixes the problem.

BTW - removing the plugs will help in all this motor spinning action.

I too think the valve stem is bent and it binding against the valve guide. There isn't much else that could hold the spring compressed which is another way of saying the valve is open IF the rocker and pushrod are removed.

I removed the head today, and you guys are right. The valve was bent preventing the spring from decompressing.

Thanx for all your help guys!
