Default Why not use studs on LS style rockers?

It's beyond me why AFR and others don't install studs in their heads and blend them into the intake port runners. Having the rocker bolts hanging into the runner MUST hurt the flow of these heads. What gives? Any ideas?

I have AFR heads and Crane rockers, that use a stud, and the stud does not protrude into the runner at all.

I'm thinking of getting some washers to raise the bolt up a bit, or getting shorter bolts altogether. I did the Harland Sharp rocker mod, and they gave me new bolts. My bolts protrude somewhere in the neghborhood of .150"-200" into the intake runner.

Back in my SBC days we would fit every stud and grind them down till they are perfect. Its a pain but can be dealt with.

I was also contemplating this idea. I guess I would need a die to clean up the bolt threads after grinding on them. THis would be the least expensive yet time consuming route. But its not like I've been super fast in building this thing up so far
