Default Valve locks want let go?

I broke a dual spring and now trying to change them. But the locks want let go! Any suggestions. They are dual springs on patriot heads. Thanks

After the springs are pressed down try tapping on the end of the valve...where the locks are. I usually sit a magnet on top right next to the locks while I am tapping on them in case they go flying...a good stong magnet will catch them...you dont want them flying somewhere, falling into your engine, losing them etc etc.

If they still wont come loose...then something else is wrong...maybe the valve that the broken spring is on got bent to hell.

Give the retainer or valve a light tap while the spring is compressed a little...

Try hitting the retainer with a small hammer at an angle before using the spring compressor on it.

Ok thanks guys. I am attempting to change all of the springs but they all are stuck. I have tapped on them compressed and not compressed to no luck.

Yep, good show. After having the first three stick when I did mine I just did the same thing. Tapped them all with a block of wood and a hammer.
