Default Valve seal guides different?

I have some Patriot 5.3 heads with dual springs. I am swapping them now with the Patriot gold sring kit. The guids are stepped and the new valve seals are straight. Do I need another type of valve seal? Thanks......

Im not clear on what youre talking about, but do the seals fit? If theyre on there snug, you shouldnt have a problem.

The seals are goin to be tight on there but they will have to be almost pressed on. I wasn't sure about pressing the issue. The one's on the heads now are plastic with a ring holding it on.

I was working on this car today and here is what I saw.
These are PP 5.3 heads about 2 years old. The valve seals on thesze heads are not a metal body with rubber insert. They are plastic with clamp that goes around the body of the seal to hold it to the guide. Now the guide is not a straight and smooth guide like the stock guides. It has a dual diameter and the upper part of the guide where the seal sits at has threads on it, maybe to grip the seal. Beneath the threaded part it has a step and steps up to a larger diameter.

I was gonna use the entire contents of the new gold spring kit but the bases wont fit over the guide thats in these heads and Im not sure if the seals in the kit should be used on those guides.

Ive not seen the old type seals youre talking about. The only other seal ive seen is the 01+ seal that incorporates the valve spring seat. In any case, use the new seals. They sound like what im used to, and should fit just fine, not to mention patriot knows what theyre doing.

Ok thanks. I just pulled one off and wasn't sure. There was no rush on the car so I wanted to get some opinions on it before goin to far.

The seals will work on a stock or bronze guide. The bases we send with our kits are for the stock guide. We have a bases with a larger ID for the bronze guids. Send us your shipping information and we will get them out to you.

The old seal appears to be a teflon seal that we used around 2.5 years ago. The new seal that came in the kit will replace these with no problem.

Cool, thanks for the quick imfo. That's about how long I have had your heads on the car with no problems. Thanks again for the response and great customer service!

The old seals were still fine but I was just goin to change them while I was doing the springs.
