Robin,

If your going to do this....give me a bell and I'll pop along and give you a hand if you like.

I used an ARP replacement crank bolt, top tip for removal of the old one is a 4 foot breaker bar, it's very very tight!

But if your going to do this you might as well do the cam at the same time - go on, you know you want to

Cheers

Jim

Thanks, Jim. Why does the crank bolt have to be replaced? Does it stretch that much?
I'd like to get someone with an expert ear to listen to the engine to see if they agree with GD's hypothesis...

Robin,

Crank bolts are stretch to torque, once they're done...they're done. As for expert ear...can't help, still waiting to spark mine up, but the list of jobs keeps growing

Hmmm is that a good option, or are the Rollmaster chains a better option for the little bit more money they cost? I see their $100 version is a double roller chain, and their $114 kit has an even stronger chain with better bearings. I need to order a chain soon to get my new shortblock ready with my new stuff.

LS2 chain runs in the C5r. It should be good enough for your car.
