I had a 221/221 in mine a long time ago with no stall. That lasted for about 2 weeks. it bogged severly from a dig. I ran the same time and trap with that cam as I did before the cam, because it bogged. That cam and a 3500 stall, same street tires dropped my time by 8tenths and 4mph faster in the trap. Get a stall.

I was in the same position as you 2 years ago. I drove my car for about 6 years and 90000 plus miles before putting in the SY3500. I wish that I put it in after the initial break in period. The converter gives you so much more useable torque for daily driving and street racing.

You can get a cam to work with a stock stall, but most off the shelf cams won't do it. It takes a cam really focused on bottom end power to make a difference. Cams like the Vinci cam and and the 216/220 112 can move power down enough to make a difference. Adding the Nitrous complicates things a bit.

I agree that a stall is the best bet. Even a 3000 makes a HUGE difference.
