I love my cam sound. Though I must say when I want to play around I get very paranoid. I know how damn loud it is, and well Ive never been in another car and listened to mine go all out. But I am sure it has to be loud enough for a cop to hear it with his windows up lol.

The neighbors hate me... but that might not be cam related
for reals... 20k miles would be 4 years on my car...
20k would only be a little slim if you were putting 12k+ on a DD camaro

I'm looking to do the same thing as you on my 02 SS, only my car is an M6.

Looking at the same cams as you are, plus:

LPE GT2-3- 207/220 117 LSA. Described as an LS6 cam "on steroids."

TR 220/220 114 LSA cam mentioned above, although not completely stealth.

Comp 212/218 either 114 LSA or 115 LSA (low lift and a higher lift version). Will have a very slight lope, probably undetectable by most people.
where can i find this lpe cam?

Thumbs up LPE cam

Try www.lingenfelter.com - LPE sells the GT2-3 cam with LS6 springs for under $400.

You can also frequently find used GT2-3's in the "parts for sale" forum on this website and ls2.com.

LS6, GT2-3, CheaTR are all high rev cams.
This is where my grind differed, it was designed with a 39 IVC to peak at 5900 so I can shift at 6100. It carries the power further well into the 6300 mark, but my shift points are at 6100.
It made over 300 rwtrq by 2500 rpm

No exhaust mod, this is on my C5, stock system.
The cam VEs are designed to work with stock system.
It is a mix of VINCI/GT2-3/CheaTR VE's and durations.
It is better than LS6 for my setup, because it brings the power range down, it is quiet, spring friendly, produces good trq, and it will make the vette a 400 rwhp ride with heads, without being obnoxious.
Kinda like a SOB in a tuxedo, mean but well dressed.

I believe 400 RWHP has been done stock internals, but it requires some exotic mods. Perhaps the fast intake, electric waterpump, !AC, !power steering, Vacuum pump, etc...

I will mill the AFR's to 63.5 cc with a ~8.5x DCR (.053 gasket)

Bolt on on A4, I think 400 will be tougher, but increase compression on stock heads with full bolt ons and you can be close.

just to point out,why the cheater cam bandwagon? i have a steath II cam full boltons, longtubes, still on stock heads and LS-1 intake and made 372- 360 ft. lbs.torque with tuning, i love the cam, pulls nice in 6th at 65 with the ac on.(im lazy to downshift) but i have m-6 with 4;10s also, drives nice.very slight lope if you put your ear to it, drives like stock and spins to 6700 RPM

99 T/A M-6
full boltons,stock heads
