I did mine myself. Wasn't that bad. I think it was $400 total including self install.

Do be a f..... wimp! Do it yourself. This site isn't here to give you an idea of how much it will cost you to have someone else do it for you. That information is available at the local garage in your area where they're just waiting to see guys like you walk thru the door. LS1Tech is here to give you advice on how to do it yourself and walk you thru it when you have problems.

Sometimes it takes a little tough love to get these wantabe mechanics out of the closet. It's a small price to pay, but if the guys on LS1Tech don't do it who will?

Well I guess your right, I would like to try this myself, instead of giving someone else $400 to do it, I was just a little skeptical of doing it myself cause i've never done a cam swap with the motor still in the car. So I don't know what is all involved. I did rebuild my 350 TPI in my 88 Iroc, stroked it to a 383 and had it running low 12's, so I atleast have a little idea of whats going on when working on motors So what do I need to do to get this done on my own? Any websites, books or magazines that you would suggest that would help me?

I recommend doing it yourself, but you have the cost of the cam, the gasket kit, fluids, and time. I used to do them for $300 cam and springs only. www.ls1howto.com has the best wright ups for the do it yourselfer.
