Why duration but not lift?

Why duration but not lift? May be an odd question, but I am wondering why when a lot of people say what kind of cam they are getting the only say the duration? For ex. 232/232 instead of 232/232 .580/.580

here's a better answer: because pretty much all lifts for aftermarket cams are in the 500 range. People stay clear from 600's because they don't want that kinda "damage" on their valvetrain, . . . not only do they not spec the lift they also don't state the lsa, . . again because people generally stay in the 112 to 114 range, . . if it was a 110 they'd mention it, . . .and lsa has alot to do with overlap and hp and tq also

Yeah I guess I can kinda see that, but I just assume list it all, really helps for people like me that are still learning about cams. I am getting there for sure, jsut kinda wondered why people listed it like that. Thanks
