Thunder Racing Cams
I'm trying to decide between the Thunder Racing 224 on a 112 or 114 lsa. Will there be any significant difference in horsepower on the stock heads with a cold air, headers, exhaust, and 4.10 gears? Is there really that big of a drive-ability difference? Which one will give me better torque under the curve? Thanks

Basicaly the 112 will shift the powerband down slightly, but neither will make more power than the other, the 112 will sound choppy-er and you will be making peak power sooner, where as the 114 will have a broader curve learning towards the high end.

I’ve got a Thunder Racing TR224 224/224 563/563 114LSA that is new, never out of the box that I would like to sell. I’m going in a different direction with the cylinder heads and looking for a better match between the new heads and cam. PM me if your interested.

i ran a 224 .581 on a 114lsa from Speed Inc in my 6sp SS when it was basically an N/A car cuz i never used the 100hp dry shot. It had the nice cam lope and wonderderful great drivibility as i made a daily comute 80miles round trip for work and school. Made 418rwhp & 384rwtq although i had TEA 2 heads, mac 1.75in mids w/ 2.5in catted y, borla, and all other usually bot-ons (except a UD pulley) thru a 12-bolt w/ 4.10s back in July 2003 and i loved it!!!!! Even w/o heads i would've made 380rwhp i bet but basically N/A folks go w/ a 112lsa(which peaks a lil lower) and mild boost folks or those who want a lil less cam lope go w/ a 114Lsa(which will peak a lil higher. I also ran a F11 228/230 114lsa in a daily driver from June 04-Oct 04 and it was a wonderful daily driver that made great power(388rwhp) Just my 2 cents FWIW
BTW, Are you wanting this cam in a power adder setup or an N/A setup? Daily Driver or Weekend Toy?? Hope anything i just babbled out helps

If you have an automatic or are concerned about emmisions stick with the 114
As stated the 112 "should" start pulling a little earlier, same power out of both but the 112 "should" make its power sooner, at low RPM.
