Default Got my motor together...almost

Well i finally got the motor together, minus pushrods.
-2002 LS1 block bored to 3.908 bore
-Mahle forged flattops with 4cc valve reliefs
-Callies Compstar rods with ARP 2000 rod bolts (6.125")
-Polished stock crank
-TREX camshaft (243.4/249.1 .613/.619 110 lsa - actual specs)
-LPE CNC ported hand finished heads with Manley 2.02 int. and 1.575 exh. milled 0.070
-Comp OEM replacement lifters (850-16)
-Stock rockers, PRC dual springs, Rollmaster double roller
-Powerbond 25% underdrive pulley

The only problem is figuring out pushrods. The base circle on the cam was around 1.47 so I would need a little more than stock in that sense, but the heads being milled 0.070" the pushrods need to be shorter. I have no PTV clearance problems with the valve reliefs, but trying to measure preload on a hydraulic lifter isnt very accurate b/c you dont know how much the lifter is making up for. I put a stock pushrod in and torqued down the rocker and turned the motor over by wrench on the balancer bolt, and that told me nothing about whether or not stock pushrod length was too much or not. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??

Buy a pushrod length checker. Its the only way to be 100% sure

the checker is useless unless you know how to measure preload with hydraulic lifters on an LS1. it is different from a traditional small block chevy. i talked with thunder racing the other day and they gave me alot of good info so i will have it done soon.
