Default Hole in block?

Getting my car torn apart for a upcoming cam swap and found this last hole in my block last night. Its on the passenger side of the block and the hole goes straight through the webbing. I don't think it is going to cause any problems (hasn't in 80k miles), just figured I'd show you guys and see what anyone had to say.

Sorry they aren't the greatest. I didn't have my digi cam with me last night.

If you can't have it welded just drill and tap a hole to plug it up.

Weird though.

I figured its just in the casting. There is no oil residue or signs of coolant leaking out there so I'm not real worried about it. I just hadn't seen anyone mention something about this before so figured I'd post up.

Nah, won't hurt anything at all. It's not even close to anything important.

Looks normal to me. I've seen that quite a few times, if not on every motor.

The hole looks too symetrical to have been caused by an engine failure. I don't know if the block was sand cast or used the lost foam method, but it could have been something in the mold.
